Safe. Safer. Safety technology.
When it comes to safety, similar questions always come up when designing machines:
Which safety functions are the right ones? How do I handle vertical axes? Are my safety functions flexible enough? Are they still high-performance?
Say goodbye to complicated risk assessments and additional costs in case of service. We have the solution: STOBER safety technology!
- Play it safe with STOBER
- SE6: Extended safety technology
- SY6: STO and SS1 using FSoE
- ST6 and SR6: STO
- ASP 5001: Safety technology for the 5th generation
For mechanical engineers, safety technology is among the most complex and possibly most unpopular topics.
To fully meet the standard requirements, STOBER offers a portfolio of field-proven safety functions that are perfectly coordinated to its drive controllers and inverters.
The Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function, for example, is already available as standard for 6th generation drive controllers.
And with the SE6 safety module, you get the benefit of a cost-effective solution with maximum safety, a wide range of functions, and more flexibility. And it is so fast and easy!
All safety modules respond quickly and are free of wear.
The SE6 safety module is the product of a joint development by STOBER and Pilz GmbH & Co. KG – and was designed specifically for the SD6 stand-alone drive controller.
In addition to Safe Torque Off (STO), drive-based safety functions from EN 61800-5-2 are available at the highest safety level – including extensive stop and monitoring functions.
You get the advantage of a very fast worst-case response time, the resulting low safety margins and fast recovery. You also get maximum flexibility in the your choice of motors and encoders.
Together with integrated brake management for up to two brakes, the practical SD6 fulfills German Social Accident Insurance (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung, or DGUV) requirements for gravity-loaded vertical axes.
The SY6 safety module adds the Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Stop 1 (SS1) safety functions to the drive controllers of the SC6 and SI6 series.
With this safety concept featuring a drive controller and SY6 safety module, the STO and SS1 safety functions are controlled via EtherCAT (Fail Safe over EtherCAT, FSoE).
The SC6 and SI6 series drive controllers successfully passed the EtherCAT as well as FSoE conformance test. This means the communication interface was tested to ensure the reliability and function of the lower-level communication regardless of the vendor.
The ST6 and SR6 safety modules add the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function to the 6th generation of drive controllers.
ST6 is designed specifically for the SD6 series, the SR6 for the SC6 and SI6 series.
As fully electronic solutions, ST6 and SR6 operate quickly and are free of wear.
Regular, interruptive system tests are unnecessary. In practical terms, this means increased availability of machines and systems.
As an extremely practical feature, the often very time-consuming planning and documentation of functional tests is completely eliminated.
The 5th generation inverters can be optionally equipped with the ASP (AnlaufSPerre) 5001 module, which implements the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function.
With suitable external wiring, for example, the Safe Stop 1 (SS1) safety function or a Category 1 stop can also be implemented in compliance with DIN. Here, STO acts as the safe fallback level.
- Extensive stop and movement functions:
- SS1, SS2, SDI, SLI, SLS, SOS, SSR, SLP.
- In addition to SS1, ten further safety functions can be parameterized and flexibly assigned.
- Safe brake management:
- Safe control of up to two brakes (SBC)
- Testing and necessary test cycle monitoring (SBT)
- Fulfills the safety requirements of the DGUV for gravity-loaded vertical axes
- Safe monitoring: SDI, SLI, SLS, SOS, SSR, SLP also available as monitoring functions
- Controlled stopping:
- Application-specific stopping of the drives if a limit value is exceeded or in the event of an emergency stop /li>
- Optional direct control or safe monitoring of the brake ramp
- Select any motor you need with manufacturer-neutral interfaces: Synchronous servo motors, asynchronous motors, linear motors, synchronous servo motors with a hollow shaft, etc.
